Does it work with our existing cameras?+
Yes. CCTV OS works with any IP camera that supports ONVIF or RTSP protocols. This includes Hikvision, Dahua, CP Plus, Bosch, Axis, and most other commercial IP cameras.
Do we need to replace our cameras?+
No. CCTV OS adds AI analytics on top of your existing camera infrastructure. No cameras need to be replaced or upgraded.
Where is the video processed?+
Video can be processed on a Velozity Edge AI Box at your site or on Velozity cloud servers. Edge processing keeps all footage on your premises. Cloud processing requires video streaming to our Indian data centres.
How fast are the alerts?+
Alerts are typically delivered within 3-5 seconds of an event being detected. Delivery speed depends on the alert channel: WhatsApp and webhook are near-instant, SMS takes a few seconds longer.
Can it detect custom objects or scenarios?+
Yes. Custom AI models can be trained for specific use cases such as branded vehicle detection, uniform compliance, or equipment monitoring. Custom model training is quoted separately.
How does CCTV OS relate to the Edge AI Box?+
The Edge AI Box is optional hardware that processes video at your site. CCTV OS is the software platform that manages detections, alerts, and analytics. CCTV OS can also work with cloud-based video processing if you prefer not to use edge hardware.
Is there a minimum number of cameras?+
We recommend a minimum of 8 cameras for CCTV OS to be cost-effective. For smaller setups with 4-8 cameras, the Edge AI Box alone with its built-in dashboard may be a better fit.
